Prove2Move: From validation to market

Program Overview

Many results from basic research are technically promising but not yet ready for licensing, industry partnerships, investors, or spin-off creation. Prove2Move closes this gap between fundamental research and market application through targeted funding, milestone-based project planning, and close support by Max-Planck-Innovation GmbH.

The program focuses on a clear development from theory to practice, including increased technological maturity (TRL), de-risking, and a stronger market and commercialization orientation.

The program is aimed at researchers from all sections of the Max Planck Society and works with two project types (Flashlight and Lighthouse), which differ in scope and duration. The goal is to establish a robust foundation for subsequent licensing, industry collaborations, or spin-off creation without funding basic research itself.

With an annual budget of €4 million and a dedicated team of specialized project and program managers, Prove2Move represents a central strategic initiative to strengthen technology transfer within the Max Planck Society.
