If processing is necessary to safeguard the legitimate interest of Max-Planck-Innovation GmbH (MI) or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms of the person concerned do not outweigh the former interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR serves as legal basis for processing.

The data is stored in the log files of our systems. A storage of this data together with other personal data of the user does not take place.
The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data in log files is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Storage in log files is done to ensure the functionality of the website. In addition, the data is used to optimize the website, to eliminate faults and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. In these purposes lies our legitimate interest in processing data according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
The storage of the data (including the anonymized IP address) is based on rolling logging, i.e. older data will be overwritten by newer data and thus deleted. Due to the anonymization, an assignment of the calling user is no longer possible.
