On October 17-18, 2024, the Start-up Days took place in Munich, organized by the transfer offices of the Leibniz, Fraunhofer, Max Planck, and Helmholtz associations. Around 120 science professionals interested in founding start-ups took part in workshops, lectures, and panel discussions to gain valuable insights into building a company.

A Successful Blend of Theory and Practice

The Start-up Days offered a comprehensive program combining hands-on workshops and inspiring expert talks. On the first day, Prof. Dr. Helmut Schönenberger from UnternehmerTUM GmbH opened with a keynote on best practices for building deep-tech companies. Investors such as Bayern Kapital and the High-Tech Gründerfonds followed with talks on funding opportunities for start-ups. Participants could choose from a broad range of parallel sessions, covering topics from financing and marketing to legal aspects and team building.

One of the highlights of the first day was the panel discussion, where experienced founders like Dr. Jorrit Lion from Proxima Fusion GmbH shared their experiences and provided valuable insights.

The second day focused on hands-on workshops. Participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in areas such as product-market fit, tech transfer, and pitch training.

A Successful Event with a View to the Future

The Start-up Days 2024 provided an ideal platform for networking with experts in financing, start-up creation, and technology transfer. The event concluded with an informal gathering, allowing participants to further strengthen the connections they had made.
